Angus Glen Golf Club

The Ontario PGA Assistants' Team Championship is one of the most fiercely competitive events of the season. Assistant Professionals from across Ontario congregate at Angus Glen Golf Club each year and play a two person scramble in hopes of winning the prestigious Assistants' Team. Past Winners include Piero Poletto & Jon Silvester, Sean Foley & Sean Casey and more recently Andy Holborn & Jerry Hinds.

Open to all Head Professionals/ Executive Professionals and his male club champion and female champion. Runners –up (2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.) will be allowed. Playing partners to the pros must be amateurs.

ENTRY FEE FOR QUALIFYING COMPETITORS: Qualifying teams will be required to pay an additional tournament entry fee of $325.00 per player ($650.00 per team) upon successfully advancing through the qualifying round. Failure to pay the additional advancement fee on this date will result in disqualification and the next alternate team will be granted the 16th position.

Top 16 teams qualify to represent the Ontario PGA at the VIA Rail Canada Cup from June 16 – June 19, 2009 at The Country Club of Montreal. Order of finish in this qualification round will determine seedings in the tournament.

SUBSTITUTE PLAYER: It will be left up to each team to choose a substitute player. The substitute player must not be registered in the qualifying round, cannot be associated with more than one team and his or her name absolutely must appear on the entry form. If a team uses a substitute player during the qualifying round or in one of the official matches, the player replaced from the team can no longer play in the competition. If a team exercises the right to not choose a replacement player and a player from that team is unable to compete, that team will be deemed as ineligible and an alternate team will be chosen in their stead.

June 19: Final / $16,000 for the eliminated team and $20,000 for the championship team

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all Ontario PGA Members in good standing. Please refer to the 2009 tournament rules and regulations of the Ontario PGA Conditions of Competition (Hard Card).
FIELD: Maximum – 128 players.
Should the entry exceed that number at the entry deadline, the exemption formula in the 2009 Tournament Rules & Conditions will be applied.

FORMAT: Once all entries have been received the field will be split into Central, Southwestern, and Northeastern Divisions. The draw and seedings will be based on proximity of competitors club address, (if unattached home address) within divisions, where applicable, followed by the 2009 Ontario PGA Money List.
Matches will be 18-holes in duration with the winner advancing to the next round. Players are required to set-up matches on their own at a neutral site willing to host them. It is the responsibility of both players to inform the office with respect to the outcome of the match as soon as possible following its conclusion. Match deadline dates listed below will be strictly adhered to, but are subject to change should the draw warrant such a modification.
For those matches not completed by the deadline both players will be subject to disqualification upon review by the Tournament Committee.
ENTRY FEE: $185.71 + $9.29 = $195.00 per person
BRACKETS: Brackets will be determined once all entries have been received and will be published on Ontariopga.com. It is your responsibility to confirm your match.

• NO ALCOHOL DURING COMPETITION- Consumption of alcohol during the course of play of a CPGA of Ontario Tournament event is strictly prohibited. Any player found in breach of this rule will be deemed to have conducted themselves in a manner unbecoming of a Member of our Association and will face a penalty set forth by the Tournament Committee.

Individual entries for one day events are $155.00 (including GST) and two day events $320.00 (including GST) and do not include a cart. Carts for individual entries must be arranged by the competitor with the host club.

SUPER SENIOR PACKAGE - ELIGIBILITY: Age 70 as of June 8, 2009

Those who decide to compete in this division ARE NOT eligible for the Hunt Trophy or the Ontario/Quebec Matches.

The cost of the SUPER SENIOR PACKAGE in 2009 is $595.00 (including GST). You are automatically entered in all 4 events (6 rounds) with a Pre-booked, pre-paid cart for all events. Individual entries for one day events are $130.00 (including GST) and two day events $220.00 (including GST) and do not include a cart. Carts for individual entries must be arranged by the competitor with the host club.

NOTE: IF YOU CHOOSE THE SENIOR PACKAGE, AND YOUR 70TH BIRTHDAY PROVIDES YOU WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE TO THE SUPER SENIOR DIVISION DURING THE SEASON, YOU CAN CHOOSE TO ENTER EITHER THE SENIOR OR SUPER DIVISIONS IN THE REMAINING EVENTS.
