The PGA of Ontario Championship is longest running tournament in the history of the Ontario PGA. First contested in 1939, the PGA of Ontario Championship is synonymous with some of Canada’s most accomplished club and touring professionals. Those names include Moe Norman, George Knudson and Al Balding. The PGA of Ontario Championship has also been contested on some of Ontario’s top golf courses and has had a home at Barrie Country Club since 2002.

FIELD: The field will be exactly 144. Should the entries exceed that number at the entry deadline; the exemption formula in the 2012 Tournament Rules & Conditions will be applied.

TEE TIMES: Day 1 - 7:00 am tee times Day 2 - 8:00 am crossover

FORMAT: 36 hole stroke play competition: cut to low 60 players plus ties, after the first round

• ENTRY DEADLINE: All events will close two Sundays prior to the event at midnight.

Open to all PGA of Ontario members in good standing. Please refer to the 2011 tournament rules and regulations of the PGA of Ontario Conditions of Competition (Hard Card).

Practice rounds may be booked after 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 14 or Sunday, July 15 by calling the pro shop at 705-737-2744. A limit of 1 practice round per competitor.

Continental breakfast and lunch both days. Awards presentation following play. All players are expected to attend.

Power carts are not included. Please make your own arrangements with the host club.

This is a Hunt Trophy Event.

This is the primary qualifier for the PGA Club Professional Championship of Canada. Players will receive exemptions into the 2012 CPC based on their 36 hole finishing position in this event. Should the number of exemptions offered be greater than the number of eligible players completing 36 holes then a secondary qualifier (PGA of Ontario Fall Championship - The Georgian Bay Club) will be used to fill remaining exemptions.
